Ronald R. Becker, a resident of Helmetta, departed this life Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at his home. Born to James and Alberta Becker on March 9, 1945, he lived in Helmetta for the past nine years. He was retired from his employment, but was a community activist in his native town of Jamesburg. Mr. Becker was president of the Jamesburg Historical Association and very active in the Jamesburg High School Alumni Association, the Jamesburg Patriotic Committee and the Jamesburg Revitalization Coalition, among other local activities. Mr. Becker was Editor of The Warwhoop while in JHS, graduating in 1963. He was the Editor of the Alumni Warwhoop, and PR rep for press releases. He also assembled the 2nd, 3rd and 4th souvenir program books for All-Class reunions. He was a hard worker for the JHS Alumni Association. As a young man, he was a member of the Jamesburg Volunteer Rescue Squad. Funeral arrangements were conducted by The Lester Memorial Home, 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg. Services were Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Liturgy at St. James R.C. Church, Jamesburg. Burial was in St. James Cemetery, Monroe Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jamesburg Historical Association, P.O. Box 182, Jamesburg, NJ 08831.
