Dear Concerned Citizens, Jamesburg Residents, and Business Owners:
Re: Jamesburg After School Programs
Our children need your help.
As everyone knows, small municipalities are under budget restraints. While our school board and administrators
have focused our limited resources to the core curriculum, all funding toward extra curricular activities have
been eliminated completely. Since October 2002, the Jamesburg PTA has picked up the tab for the boys' and girls'
soccer and basketball programs. Jamesburg Recreation has funded the After School Programs. Total expenses exceeded
$25,000 and we can no longer fund these activities without your help.
Studies show that children involved with extra curricular activities are 80% more likely to attend secondary education
and have a 200% better chance of staying out of trouble. Our community's future is with our children. They represent
our future citizens, civic leaders, homeowners, and businessmen and women. Hence, we ask your assistance in funding
these activities that are so important to their futures.
Please reach into your budget, heart, and wallet with a contribution toward our children. All donations will be given the
utmost recognition. All checks should be made payable to the Jamesburg PTA and mailed to the Mayor's Office, 131
Perrineville Road, Jamesburg, NJ 08831.
Sincerely,
Anthony LaMantia
Mayor
Borough of Jamesburg
